West Bengal CM Suvendu Adhikari Launches ₹5,296-Crore Projects in Purulia
The leader of West Bengal, Suvendu Adhikari, opened a big new water project in a place called Purulia.
This project will bring clean water to more than eight lakh people.
That is a lot of people — more than the population of many big cities!
He also started building a huge new steel factory.
The water project cost a lot of money, and Japan helped pay for part of it.
Mr. Adhikari said the government wants to bring more factories to West Bengal.
He asked that local people be given jobs in these new factories.
He talked about the new government's first 100 days of work.
He also said another big investment will be launched in Haldia before the Durga Puja festival.
The government hopes these projects will help the state grow and create jobs.
West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari inaugurated the JICA-backed West Bengal Piped Water Supply Project in Purulia's Manbazar block.
He laid the foundation stone for a ₹4,000-crore integrated greenfield steel plant by Amit Metaliks at Durmut in Raghunathpur, Purulia.
The ₹1,296.25-crore water project, with JICA contributing ₹889.06 crore, is expected to benefit over eight lakh people.
Adhikari urged local administrations to prioritise local people for employment in the new plants.
Adhikari said a ₹6,000-crore investment will be inaugurated in Haldia on October 14, before Durga Puja.
