JEE Scores Now Accepted for Undergraduate Admissions at Five IIMs
This story is about how students in India can now use their JEE exam scores to get into IIMs, which are famous business schools.
Before, IIMs mostly admitted older students through a different test called the Common Admission Test, or CAT.
Now, five IIMs are offering courses for younger students in subjects like Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, and Digital Business.
Students can use their JEE Main or JEE Advanced scores to apply.
Each IIM has its own rules for who can apply and how students are chosen.
Most courses last three or four years.
Students can leave earlier and still earn a certificate or diploma.
Students who finish the full four years can get an honours degree.
Many courses include internships with companies starting in the third year.
Five IIMs — Mumbai, Lucknow, Sambalpur, Bangalore, and Kozhikode — now accept JEE Main and JEE Advanced scores for undergraduate admissions.
New programmes include BS in Digital Science and Business Management, BS in AI and Business Analytics, BS in Data Science and AI, BBA in Digital Business and Entrepreneurship, and Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS).
Most programmes are aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) framework, offering multiple exit options from certificate to honours degree and corporate internships from the third year.
IIM Mumbai's final merit list gives 70 per cent weightage to JEE Main scores and 30 per cent to the interview, with candidates ranking between AIR 15,000 and 20,000 likely to be considered.
Other institutions such as IIIT Hyderabad and NMIMS also accept JEE Main scores for select programmes, while BITS Pilani admits through its own BITSAT exam.
