Janmashtami Celebrations Draw Devotees Across Tirupati, Chittoor Districts

People across Tirupati and Chittoor districts celebrated Sri Krishna Janmashtami on Friday.

Many devotees visited temples to pray and take part in special rituals.

The Hare Krishna Lotus Temple in Tirupati received the largest crowd.

Temple officials estimated that more than one lakh people visited there.

Some people waited more than four hours to receive darshan.

Police helped control the crowds and traffic, and drones watched the movement of visitors.

Food was served at the Sri Venugopala Swamy Temple near Palani Theatre.

The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams performed prayers for cows and Krishna.

Other celebrations took place in Tirumala, Srikalahasti and Kanipakam.
