Several Law Colleges Missing From Maharashtra LLB Admission Portal, Students Raise Concerns · freepressjournal.in

Many students in Maharashtra want to study law at college.

This year, they are picking their preferred law colleges through a special admission website.

To their surprise, some well-known law colleges were not on the list.

The website only includes colleges that received approval from the Bar Council and affiliation from their university.

The Bar Council checks whether law colleges meet proper standards.

Colleges need full-time principals, qualified teachers, and facilities like moot courts to qualify.

Last year, 218 colleges offered the three-year law course and 161 offered the five-year course.

This year, only 93 and 56 colleges are listed.

Many colleges did not even apply for approval, even though they were given six weeks to do so.

Students can keep their first-round seats and try for a better college in the next round.
