Madhya Pradesh Faces Heavy Rain Alerts as Monsoon Shifts Westward
The monsoon has become active again in Madhya Pradesh.
The India Meteorological Department has warned that some districts could get very heavy rain.
Sagar, Tikamgarh, Chhatarpur, Panna and Damoh may receive up to 8 inches of rain in one day.
Other districts may also get heavy or moderate rain.
The rain was strongest in the Vindhya and Mahakaushal regions on August 19.
From August 20 to 24, the rain is expected to shift toward central and western parts of the state.
Panna and Narsinghpur had orange alerts for August 21.
Guna and Shivpuri had orange alerts for August 22.
Overall, the state has received less rain than usual since June 1.
