Madhya Pradesh Faces Heavy Rain; Orange Alert For Three Districts
Madhya Pradesh is expecting a lot of rain.
The state has received 25.5 inches of rain this monsoon.
That is about two-thirds of the rain it usually aims to receive in the season.
However, rainfall is still 11% lower than normal overall.
Forty districts have received less rain than usual, while 15 have received more.
The weather department says rain will become stronger in northern, western and central parts of the state.
Bhind, Datia and Sagar have been given an orange alert for very heavy rain on Wednesday.
Many other districts may also receive heavy rain over the next two or three days.
Madhya Pradesh has received 25.5 inches of monsoon rain, about 68% of its seasonal target.
The state is 11% below normal rainfall, with 40 districts recording deficits and 15 above normal.
The India Meteorological Department expects the monsoon to become active across northern, western and central Madhya Pradesh.
Very heavy rainfall is forecast for Bhind, Datia and Sagar on Wednesday, August 26.
Heavy rain may continue across the state for the next three days, with warnings covering several divisions and districts.
