Heavy Rain Alert for Eastern Madhya Pradesh; Balaghat Orange Alert
Madhya Pradesh August 14, 2026 Weather Update: Heavy Rain Likely In Jabalpur, Rewa, Shahdol & Other Eastern Districts · freepressjournal.in

Madhya Pradesh, a state in India, is getting ready for a lot of rain.

The India Meteorological Department says heavy rain is coming for the eastern part of the state starting Friday.

One district, Balaghat, has an orange alert because it may get extremely heavy rain on August 15.

On Thursday, Shivpuri and Sheopur could get more than four inches of rain.

In the past day, the town of Khargone got the most rain in the whole state—more than eight inches.

The rain is happening because a low-pressure system in the Bay of Bengal has become stronger and is moving toward West Bengal and Jharkhand.

Even with all this rain, most districts in Madhya Pradesh have received less rain than they usually do this season.

Only around twelve districts, like Bhopal, Guna and Khargone, have gotten more rain than normal.

People living in the alert areas should stay careful and prepare for heavy rain in the next few days.
