Karnataka Reshuffles Senior IPS Officers, Chetan Takes Mangaluru Post
The Karnataka government changed the jobs of several senior police officers.
Amit Singh was moved from leading the Mangaluru Western Range.
He will now work as Inspector General of Police for the Karnataka State Reserve Police.
R Chetan was appointed Deputy Inspector General of Police for the Mangaluru Western Range.
Chetan will replace Singh in the Western Range leadership.
The Western Range includes important parts of Karnataka’s coastal area.
The new assignments begin immediately.
The government said the changes are part of a broader reassignment of senior police officers.
The Karnataka government transferred and posted several senior IPS officers on Saturday.
Amit Singh was moved from IGP, Mangaluru Western Range, to IGP, Karnataka State Reserve Police.
R Chetan was appointed DIG, Mangaluru Western Range, replacing Singh.
Both postings take effect immediately under the government order.
