APSRTC launches Rs 300 electric buses to Bhogapuram airport
People in a city called Visakhapatnam can now travel to their new airport cheaply.
The new airport is called the Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport.
It is in a place called Bhogapuram.
Before, taking a taxi to the airport cost a lot of money, between 3,000 and 5,000 rupees.
The government buses cost only 300 or 400 rupees.
The state bus company, APSRTC, started 20 new electric buses for this trip.
Half of the buses go through some places, and the other half go through different places.
The buses come every hour, so passengers do not have to wait very long.
Electric buses are good for the environment because they do not create as much smoke.
This makes it easier and cheaper for people to reach the airport.
APSRTC launched a fleet of 20 special electric buses connecting Visakhapatnam with the newly-operational Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport at Bhogapuram.
The fare is fixed at Rs.300 from Dwaraka Complex, Visakhapatnam, and Rs.400 from Gajuwaka.
Private cab fares for the same route currently range between Rs.3,000 and Rs.5,000.
Services will operate every hour between Gajuwaka and Bhogapuram Airport.
Revenue, Stamps and Registration Minister Angani Satya Prasad flagged off the services in the presence of Visakhapatnam MP M. Sribharat and other officials.
