E-Buses to Link Visakhapatnam With ASR Airport From Aug 16
A new bus service is coming to a city in India called Visakhapatnam.
The buses will take people to a new airport far outside the city.
There will be 20 special buses that run on electricity instead of petrol or diesel.
These buses are good for the air because they don't create pollution.
They are also very comfortable, with air conditioning and room for wheelchairs.
The buses will start running on August 16.
Some rides will cost 300 rupees and longer rides will cost 400 rupees.
The buses will run from early morning at 4 am until 10 pm.
Soon, 80 more electric buses will come to the city to help reduce traffic.
APSRTC will launch 20 air-conditioned electric buses connecting Visakhapatnam city with the Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport at Bhogapuram from August 16.
The service starts a day before commercial flight operations begin at the airport, with a formal inauguration planned for August 15 at the police barracks in Visakhapatnam.
Fares are set at `400 per passenger from Gajuwaka via NAD Junction and `300 per passenger from RTC Complex to the airport.
Buses will operate from 4 am to 10 pm, with timings possibly extended beyond 10 pm depending on airport demand.
Each 12-metre bus has a capacity of 35-40 passengers with air suspension, wheelchair accessibility, automatic doors, CCTV cameras and public address systems; 80 more electric buses are planned for Visakhapatnam city.
