Vizag Airport Ends Scheduled Flights as Bhogapuram Airport Takes Over
An airport in a city called Visakhapatnam, in India, has stopped flying big passenger planes.
The last passenger flight left on Sunday night, heading to Delhi.
Now, a brand new airport in a nearby place called Bhogapuram will handle the passenger flights.
The government told the old airport to stop when the new one was ready.
The old airport's special code, VTZ, will move to the new airport.
The old airport will not close completely.
It will still be used for other kinds of flights, like private or cargo planes.
Many people helped run the old airport safely for many years.
The new airport will now be the main hub for air travel in the Andhra Pradesh region.
Visakhapatnam Airport concluded its scheduled commercial flight operations on Sunday.
Operations shift to the newly commissioned Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport at Bhogapuram.
