A new airport called the Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport opened in Bhogapuram, Andhra Pradesh.

An airline called Air India Express started flying from this airport on 17 August.

The airline runs 10 flights every day from the airport.

These flights connect Visakhapatnam to Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Vijayawada.

The very first flight left for Bengaluru at 8 o'clock in the morning.

Passengers on that flight got special ceremonial boarding passes.

In September, the airline will add more flights from Tirupati to Hyderabad.

It will also start flying again between Hyderabad and Chennai.

Air India Express flies to 48 cities in India and 16 other places around the world.

This means people can travel more easily between these cities.
