India pushes faster industrial corridor execution, investor-ready ecosystems
India is building big special areas called industrial corridors where companies can set up factories.
The government held a meeting to make sure these projects finish quickly.
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman led the meeting.
She said the focus should be on finishing roads and buildings and giving land to companies.
Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal wants factories that are ready to use right away.
Some new industrial cities have already started making products.
The government has given out many plots of land to companies.
This could bring lots of investment and create jobs for many people.
The government also plans to build 100 new industrial parks.
Many states have already applied to be part of this plan.
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman chaired the third Apex Monitoring Authority meeting of NICDIT, urging faster completion of industrial corridor projects.
The NICDP now covers 20 approved projects across 13 states and seven industrial corridors.
Four industrial smart cities—Dholera, Shendra-Bidkin, Greater Noida and Vikram Udyogpuri—have entered the production stage.
469 plots covering about 5,348 acres have been allotted, with investment potential of around ₹2.21 trillion and employment potential of about 1.29 lakh people.
The BHAVYA scheme to develop 100 plug-and-play industrial parks received 87 applications from states in its first round.
