Tamil Nadu Minister Pushes Chennai–Thiruvananthapuram Industrial Corridor with Centre

Tamil Nadu is a state in India that makes lots of things, like cars and electronics.

Its leaders want to build a new industrial corridor, which is like a special route that connects factories and businesses.

The corridor would go between two big cities, Chennai and Thiruvananthapuram.

A minister named S. Keerthana asked the central government of India to study this idea.

She also asked for help to build seven new industrial parks, where companies can set up factories easily.

The request was made at a big meeting in New Delhi, the capital of India.

The finance minister, Nirmala Sitharaman, reminded everyone that an older plan from 2014 was not followed up properly.

The commerce minister, Piyush Goyal, said some of the proposals could be approved if they follow the rules.

If the corridor is built, it could help create jobs and connect Tamil Nadu with its neighbour, Kerala.
