New Rail Connectivity Links Gwalior-Chambal Region With Birpur
A new railway section has opened in Madhya Pradesh.
It connects Kailaras, Sabalgarh and Birpur by rail.
The Gwalior-Kailaras train will now travel farther to Birpur.
People in more than 100 villages are expected to benefit.
They will have easier and cheaper travel to Gwalior.
The railway may help people reach schools, hospitals and jobs.
It could also help local businesses and tourism.
Officials said the railway will eventually reach Sheopur Kalan and Kota.
They hope the full Gwalior-Sheopur Kalan line will open in the coming months.
The 56-km gauge-converted Kailaras-Birpur section in Madhya Pradesh was virtually inaugurated.
The Gwalior-Kailaras train service was extended to Birpur through Sabalgarh.
The extension connects Birpur, Vijaypur and Sabalgarh directly with Gwalior.
More than 100 villages across Morena and Sheopur districts are expected to benefit.
The line is planned to extend to Sheopur Kalan and eventually Kota.
