Tezpur University Student Found Dead in Hostel Room
A 20-year-old student at Tezpur University was found hanging in his hostel room.
He lived in Lachit Borphukan Boys’ Hostel and studied chemistry.
His roommate had gone to class and found the door locked when he returned.
The roommate saw the student through a ventilator and alerted others.
Police arrived at about 1:30 p.m.
and took the body to Kanaklata Civil Hospital.
Police said the early investigation suggested suicide.

Police received information at about 1:30 p.m. after the student’s roommate found the door locked and saw him through a ventilator.
Police said the initial investigation suggested suicide, but officials said the exact cause of death remains under investigation.
The body was sent to Kanaklata Civil Hospital for post-mortem, and the family took it home around 7 p.m.
