AAP MLAs question own Punjab ministers over delayed projects
‘Sadan jhooth da adda nahi’: AAP MLA confronts Punjab Minister in Vidhan Sabha · indianexpress.com

In the Punjab Vidhan Sabha, the state's law-making assembly, elected leaders called MLAs asked their own government's ministers tough questions.

Their party, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), runs the Punjab government, and the MLAs wanted answers about delays in projects for the public.

One MLA, Manwinder Singh Gyaspura, said a minister's claim about a village land auction was not true and said he would quit if the minister could prove it.

Another MLA, Kuljit Singh Randhawa, complained that a promised government complex in Dera Bassi was still unfinished 18 months after he raised it.

A farmer MLA from Faridkot said small farms needed common water channels too, not just large ones.

The water minister replied that the government had spent about Rs 188 crore on irrigation works in that area.

School problems were also raised, and the education minister said 1,032 new lecturers were being hired, mostly for rural schools.

A member even questioned a slow-moving bridge project in Zira, and the minister promised to finish it by July 2027.

In the end, the ministers promised to fix the problems, speed up work, and meet the MLAs to resolve the issues.
