Former Punjab CM Channi Takes MA Exam Amid Congress Meeting
Charanjit Singh Channi is a politician and former chief minister of Punjab.
On Thursday, he went to Panjab University to take an exam.
The subject was public administration, which is about how governments work.
Because of the exam, he missed an important Congress meeting in Delhi.
Channi has already earned several degrees.
He also completed a PhD about Congress organization and election strategies.
He became chief minister in 2021 but served for only a few months.
Congress lost the 2022 Punjab election, and Channi lost both seats he contested.
He later returned to Parliament after winning the Jalandhar seat in 2024.
Former Punjab chief minister Charanjit Singh Channi sat for a master’s examination in public administration at Panjab University on Thursday.
The examination kept Channi away from a Congress Working Committee meeting in Delhi ahead of Punjab’s Assembly elections.
Security personnel accompanied Channi but remained outside the examination centre while he wrote the paper with other students.
Channi already holds degrees in law, business administration, political science and a PhD in political science from Panjab University.
After losing both seats he contested in the 2022 Punjab election, Channi returned to Parliament by winning Jalandhar in 2024.
