President Murmu to Honour 48 Teachers on Teachers’ Day
The government has chosen 48 teachers for the National Teachers Awards 2026.
These teachers come from many parts of India, including 27 states and seven Union territories.
Some also work for Central government organisations and different kinds of schools.
The group has 26 men and 22 women.
The teachers were chosen in three steps at the district, state and national levels.
They were recognised for helping improve schools and support their students.
President Droupadi Murmu will give them their awards on September 5, which is Teachers’ Day.
Short documentaries about the teachers’ work will be shown at the ceremony.
The government announced National Teachers Awards 2026 for 48 school teachers.
The awardees represent 27 states, seven Union territories and six Central government organisations.
The selected group includes 26 men and 22 women from institutions including Kendriya Vidyalayas, Navodaya Vidyalayas, Sainik schools and PM SHRI schools.
The Department of School Education and Literacy selected the teachers through district-, state- and national-level stages.
President Droupadi Murmu will present the awards at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, on September 5, with documentaries about the awardees shown during the event.
