President Murmu to Confer National Teacher Awards September 5
President Droupadi Murmu will give national awards to 21 teachers and faculty members.
The ceremony will happen on September 5, 2026, in New Delhi.
Twelve winners are from central higher-education institutions.
Five are from state universities, and four are from polytechnics.
Teachers could be nominated by themselves, their institutions or their peers.
Nominations were submitted online between May 26 and July 20.
A screening committee first shortlisted the nominees.
A jury then selected the final awardees.
The awards recognize strong teaching, research, innovation and other educational work.
President Droupadi Murmu will present National Awards to Teachers to 21 higher-education and polytechnic faculty members on September 5, 2026.
