Delhi Police Arrest Two in Stolen Credit Card Gold Coin Fraud
A man in Delhi got a phone call from someone who said he worked at a bank.
The caller said he could help raise the man's credit card limit.
The man shared his card details with the caller.
Soon after, a lot of money was taken from his card in many small purchases.
The money was used to buy gold coins on the internet.
The gold coins were sent to a house in Mohan Garden.
Police caught two people who they think did this trick.
Their names are Vicky Mehta and Chitrasen Tripathi.
Police also found two phones and are looking for a third person who helped them.
Delhi Police arrested Vicky Mehta (43) and Chitrasen Tripathi (33), both residents of Uttam Nagar, on Tuesday night.
The two allegedly posed as private bank executives to obtain a New Ashok Nagar resident's credit card details on the pretext of raising his credit limit.
More than Rs 1 lakh was debited from the victim's credit card through multiple unauthorised online transactions.
The stolen money was used to purchase gold coins online, which were delivered to an address in Mohan Garden using fake SIM cards.
Police recovered two mobile phones and are tracing an absconding associate who allegedly impersonated bank executives.
