Delhi CM Rekha Gupta, Shikhar Dhawan Launch STEM Innovation Lab
On Thursday, the leader of Delhi, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, visited a school in Pitampura.
She opened a brand-new STEM Innovation Lab there.
STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.
The lab has modern tools to help students learn by doing hands-on, practical activities.
More than 2,500 students from the school will be able to use it.
The lab was built with help from a phone company called Human Mobile Devices, also known as HMD.
It was also supported by Shikhar Dhawan, a famous former cricket player, and his foundation.
Shikhar Dhawan said that champions of tomorrow are shaped in today's classrooms.
The Delhi government wants every child to have the chance to dream big and learn with modern tools.
This new lab is the next step in a program called Digital Shiksha.
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta inaugurated a STEM Innovation Lab at Sarvodaya Vidyalaya in Pitampura on Thursday.
The lab was set up with support from Human Mobile Devices (HMD) under its Corporate Social Responsibility initiative.
The facility is expected to benefit more than 2,500 students through practical and application-based STEM education.
The initiative is backed by former India cricketer and Da One Group Chairman Shikhar Dhawan, with the Shikhar Dhawan Foundation led by Sophie Dhawan.
The launch follows an MoU between Da One Group and the Directorate of Education, Government of NCT of Delhi, to strengthen digital education.
Shikhar Dhawan described the lab as the next step in the Digital Shiksha journey.
