JNU Sees Sloganeering During Discussion on Umar Khalid's Book

At a famous university in India called JNU, some students and teachers gathered on Monday to talk about a book.

The book was written by Umar Khalid, a former student leader who has been in jail since 2020.

The university had cancelled the hall where the talk was supposed to happen.

So the student union held the talk outside another building.

During the discussion, some students shouted 'Release Umar Khalid!'

because they want him to be set free.

Other students disagreed and shouted back at them.

Things got tense and there was a lot of shouting between the two groups.

The university said the original room was cancelled because the booking was made with wrong information.

Nobody was reported hurt, but people argued with each other.
