JNU Cancels Auditorium Booking for Umar Khalid Book Discussion
A big university in India called JNU cancelled the use of a room where students planned to discuss a book.
The book is called 'Fractured Communities' and was written by Umar Khalid, a former student of the university who is now in jail.
The talk was planned for August 10, 2026, and was organised by the students' union.
It was meant to celebrate the International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples, which honours Adivasi, or tribal, communities.
