La Caisse, a large Canadian pension fund, bought part of an Indian telecom infrastructure company.

It paid about ₹12,100 crore for a 24% share of Altius Telecom Infrastructure Trust.

Altius owns and runs more than 258,000 telecom towers and sites in India.

Brookfield is still the biggest investor in the trust.

Other investors include affiliates of GIC and British Columbia Investment Management Corporation.

La Caisse said it knows the telecom tower business from investments around the world.

Brookfield said the new investment shows confidence in Altius.

Both investors said they plan to help the company grow over the long term.
