Mahindra unveils Scorpio Lifestyler pickup, April 2027 India launch
Mahindra is a big car company from India.
It is making a new pickup truck called the Scorpio Lifestyler.
A pickup truck is a vehicle with an open back where you can carry things.
The company showed the truck to people on a Friday, and it will go on sale in India by April 2027.
The starting price in India will be below ₹19.79 lakh, which is less than similar trucks from other brands.
The truck was first shown as a concept in Cape Town, South Africa, in 2023.
It comes in three styles called the Valley, Reef, and Trail editions.
Mahindra also showed a new electric SUV called the BE 6-SPORTEQ, and customers will get theirs starting August 26.
Mahindra hopes people will like a pickup that is strong off-road but also safe, comfortable, and full of technology for everyday use.
Mahindra unveiled its global pickup, the Scorpio Lifestyler, on Friday, with an India launch planned by April 2027.
India prices for the Scorpio Lifestyler will start below ₹19.79 lakh ex-showroom, substantially below the Toyota Hilux and Isuzu D-Max V-Cross.
First shown as a concept in Cape Town, South Africa, in August 2023, the pickup will be sold as the Mahindra Lifestyler in international markets.
Mahindra also introduced the BE 6-SPORTEQ electric SUV series, with deliveries commencing August 26, plus launch and Formula E Freedom special editions.
The company targets mid-size lifestyle pickup markets in Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Africa, the Middle East and Latin America, while weighing the UK and eyeing Indonesia as 'low-hanging fruit'.
Mahindra will spend the next six months studying potential buyers and use cases, and has not set a domestic sales target.
