Telangana Expands School Breakfast Programme With Hare Krishna Support
Telangana is expanding a programme that gives breakfast to students before school.
The Hare Krishna Movement Charitable Foundation India will help the government run it in Karimnagar.
A new kitchen will be opened at the Karimnagar Market Yard on September 16.
It can make food for up to 50,000 students each day.
Nearly 49,025 students will receive meals through the Karimnagar programme.
Their schools and colleges are spread across 17 mandals and four Assembly constituencies.
The menu includes foods such as idli, dosa, upma and millet idli.
Milk will be served on alternate days, and the state plans more kitchens across Telangana.
