MH CET Revises LLB Counselling Schedule; Option Form Deadline Extended
Going to law school in the Indian state of Maharashtra starts with taking a test called the CET.
Students who pass the test take part in counselling, which helps match them with law colleges.
During counselling, each student fills out an option form listing the colleges they prefer.
Seats are then given to students in rounds, based on their choices and scores.
This year, several law colleges were still waiting for approval from the Bar Council of India and for affiliation with their universities.
Because of this, the officials extended the deadline for filling out option forms to August 11, 2026.
They also revised the whole schedule of rounds for both the three-year and five-year law courses.
Students who had not registered earlier can still do so until September 5, 2026.
The Maharashtra State CET Cell revised the Centralised Admission Process (CAP) schedule for 3-year and 5-year LLB admission for the 2026-27 academic year.
The Round I college option form deadline for both courses was extended to August 11, 2026, from the earlier date of August 9, 2026.
The extension was granted because several law colleges are still awaiting Bar Council of India (BCI) approval and university affiliation.
Registration for unregistered CET-qualified candidates for Round III and the institutional level round runs from August 5 to September 5, 2026.
Round I option form filling began August 5, 2026; 5-year LLB seat allocation is set for August 17 and 3-year LLB for August 14, 2026.
Colleges that receive necessary approvals are being added to the list of institutions candidates can choose from during CAP Round I.
