‘Triple engine’ government to boost Delhi Master Plan implementation
The government has officially announced a new plan for Delhi called the Master Plan for Delhi-2047.
It describes how the city should be developed.
Union Minister Manohar Lal said the plan should be easier to carry out because the BJP controls the central government, the Delhi government and the city’s municipal corporation.
He called this arrangement a “triple engine sarkar.”
The minister was asked whether the plan would be implemented effectively.
He said Delhi has many different authorities working on city matters.
These include the Delhi Development Authority, New Delhi Municipal Council, Delhi government and Delhi Jal Board.
The government says coordination among them can help put the plan into action.
