Visakhapatnam Launches Month-Long Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign
Visakhapatnam has started a month-long campaign called Swachhata Hi Seva–2026.
The campaign says everyone should help keep neighborhoods clean.
The MLA said cleanliness is not only the job of government workers or sanitation workers.
People should keep their homes and nearby areas clean and avoid throwing waste carelessly.
Resident Welfare Associations were asked to help organize cleanliness activities.
The campaign will also teach students and young people about cleanliness.
It will support the safety and dignity of sanitation workers.
People will be encouraged to reduce, reuse and recycle waste and avoid single-use plastic.
Residents were also asked to build rainwater-harvesting pits like those in JR Nagar.
Visakhapatnam East MLA Velagapudi Ramakrishna Babu urged residents to treat cleanliness as a shared social responsibility.
The Swachhata Hi Seva–2026 campaign was launched at Jagannadharaju Nagar under GVMC supervision.
Residents were asked to avoid indiscriminate waste dumping and keep their homes and surroundings clean.
