Andhra Pradesh Sanctions ₹337.90 Crore for HNSS Canal Lining Works
The Andhra Pradesh government approved money to improve part of the HNSS canal.
The approved amount is ₹337.90 crore.
The work will cover a 40-kilometre stretch of canal.
It will take place in Anantapur and Sri Sathya Sai districts.
The plan also includes a two-kilometre tunnel.
The first approval had been for ₹158.19 crore.
Engineers later estimated that the work would cost ₹339.50 crore.
The government directed the project’s chief engineer to check the details and begin implementation.

The project covers the canal between kilometres 260 and 300 in Anantapur and Sri Sathya Sai districts.
The package includes a two-kilometre tunnel from Km 285.100 to Km 287.100.
The revised sanction is higher than the original approval of ₹158.19 crore.
Engineers submitted revised estimates of ₹339.50 crore before the government approved ₹337.90 crore.
