Naidu Brings Handri-Neeva Waters to Drought-Prone Kuppam

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu visited Kuppam on Tuesday.

He welcomed water brought through the Handri-Neeva project.

The water comes from the Krishna river system.

People performed a traditional ceremony and celebrated the water flowing into the area.

The project has already filled 133 small irrigation tanks.

Last year, released water also raised groundwater levels and helped some dry borewells work again.

Naidu started construction preparations for a new reservoir at Beeraganipalle.

He also announced plans to connect more than 550 tanks so Kuppam can have more reliable water supplies.
