Delhi BJP launches Tiranga Yatra campaign for Independence Day
The Tiranga Yatra is a special march event happening in Delhi, India.
It is organised by the BJP, a big political party in India.
The word 'Tiranga' means the Indian flag, which has three colours.
The campaign started on Sunday, during the week before India's Independence Day on August 15.
Many people, including leaders and young workers, joined the marches.
The marches happened in different parts of Delhi, like New Delhi, West Delhi and North-West Delhi.
The leaders want every family to hoist the Indian flag at their home until August 15.
One leader, Bansuri Swaraj, said the flag is a symbol of respect for martyrs and the unity of 1.4 billion Indians.
The campaign will continue until Independence Day on August 15.
Delhi BJP launched the Tiranga Yatra campaign on Sunday under the leadership of Delhi BJP president Harsh Malhotra.
Tiranga Yatras will be organised across all district areas as well as several mandals, coordinated under State General Secretary Vishnu Mittal.
The New Delhi district Yatra began under MP Bansuri Swaraj and district president Ravindra Chaudhary, starting from Pilanji Village and concluding at Greater Kailash M Block Market.
Harsh Malhotra said he will participate in the Tiranga Yatra campaign in Chandni Chowk district on Monday.
Thousands of workers, MLAs, municipal councillors and Delhi Government ministers took part in Yatras across New Delhi, West and North-West districts.
