Thane Begins Hearings Over Unverified Voter Entries During Roll Revision
Officials in Thane are checking the district’s voter list to make it accurate and up to date.
The review covers more than 7.4 million registered voters.
Many voter records have already been entered into a digital system, but others still need checking.
Some records are linked to people who moved away, died or cannot be located.
Electoral Registration Officers are contacting people whose information does not match an older voter database.
These voters can attend hearings and provide approved documents.
The hearings will continue until October 29, 2026.
The final updated voter list is expected to be published on November 4, 2026.
A Special Intensive Revision is underway across Thane district’s 18 Assembly constituencies.
The review covers 7,450,515 registered voters, with 4,590,249 Enumeration Form Schedules digitised.
The remaining 2,860,266 records include relocated, deceased and untraceable entries under review.
Electoral Registration Officers are issuing notices and holding hearings for details that do not match the 2002 database.
The draft roll was published on August 31, with final publication scheduled for November 4, 2026.
