Chennai Egmore redevelopment prompts temporary train service changes
Chennai Egmore station is being redeveloped.
Because of this work, some trains will not go all the way to Chennai Egmore for a short time.
Some trains will instead stop at Tambaram, Mambalam, or Chennai Beach.
A few trains that normally start at Egmore will begin at another station.
The changes will happen on different dates between September 1 and October 15, 2026.

The Mumbai CSMT–Chennai Egmore Superfast Mail will terminate at Chennai Beach from September 12 to 15.
The Uzhavan Express will face 20- or 30-minute delays at Mambalam/Kodambakkam during specified periods.
