BITS Pilani Awards Degrees to 15,153 Working Professionals
BITS Pilani gave degrees to 15,153 people who were already working.
They studied through the Work Integrated Learning Programmes, or WILP.
The students graduated in 30 different areas.
Twice as many students graduated this year as last year.
Many graduates studied technology, digital subjects, engineering, manufacturing or infrastructure.
The group also included women, doctors, defence personnel and students from other countries.
Families, teachers and university leaders joined the celebration in person and online.
University leaders said continuing education can help workers and support India’s future workforce.
BITS Pilani awarded degrees to a record 15,153 working professionals across 30 specialised disciplines.
The WILP graduating cohort doubled in size compared with last year.
Technology and digital fields made up 46% of graduates, while engineering, manufacturing and infrastructure accounted for 35%.
The cohort included more than 2,000 women, 167 medical doctors, 60 defence personnel and 80 international learners from 15 countries.
WILP Convocation 2026 was held at the BITS Pilani Hyderabad campus on Sunday, with an immersive virtual experience for participants.
