Houston AI Centre Launches IIT Kharagpur’s Global Skills Platform
A new centre for learning about artificial intelligence opened in Houston.
It was created with help from the IIT Kharagpur Outreach Network.
The centre will teach AI skills and provide professional training.
It also hopes to help industries solve difficult problems.
Leaders said it might grow into a larger overseas IIT centre.
It could also connect alumni and other partners from several IITs.
The opening was linked to India’s 80th Independence Day and IIT Kharagpur’s 75th anniversary.
Its first activity was a two-day AI certificate bootcamp.
The Texas AI Learning Centre was inaugurated at Houston’s Tagore Centre through collaboration with the IIT Kharagpur Outreach Network.
The centre will focus on artificial intelligence education, skills development, professional training, and industry-oriented solutions.
The launch coincided with India’s 80th Independence Day and IIT Kharagpur’s 75th anniversary.
Organizers said the facility could become an overseas IIT Outreach Centre or a broader Pan-IIT platform.
Operations began with a two-day AI certificate bootcamp coordinated by Texas A&M University professor Dr Debyajoti Banerjee.
