NITTTR Kolkata Hosts AI Leadership Summit 2026 for AI-Ready India
In July 2026, a school called NITTTR in Kolkata, India, hosted a big two-day meeting called the AI Leadership Summit.
The meeting was about artificial intelligence, which is when computers are taught to do smart things that people usually do.
More than 550 grown-ups came, including teachers, company leaders, researchers, students and people who make rules for the country.
They talked about how AI can help with learning, new inventions, jobs and skills.
At the meeting, the leaders said they want to build a special Centre of Excellence to teach and study AI, to help India become 'AI-ready'.
They also announced a class to teach teachers how to use AI and new AI tools in their classrooms.
Students and innovators got to show their own AI ideas in competitions.
The event was opened by Chairman Shri Sajjan Bhajanka.
Everyone worked together in the hope of making India stronger in technology for the future.
NITTTR Kolkata hosted the AI Leadership Summit (AILS) 2026 on July 30-31 under the theme 'Shaping Intelligent Futures'.
More than 550 delegates, including academicians, industry leaders, policymakers, researchers, faculty, students and innovators, attended the two-day summit.
The summit was inaugurated by Shri Sajjan Bhajanka, Chairman of the NITTTR Kolkata Board of Governors, alongside other institutional leaders.
NITTTR Kolkata announced a vision to establish a Centre of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence aligned with the Digital India Mission and Viksit Bharat 2047.
The Centre of Integrated Skill Development launched a three-month AI Educators Certification Course covering AI, Generative AI and AI-enabled pedagogy.
