Schwan Lab Inaugurated at GITAM for Biomedical Training and Research
A new science lab called the Schwan Lab was opened at a university in Visakhapatnam, India.

The Schwan Lab, a state-of-the-art biomedical training and research facility, was inaugurated on Monday at the GITAM School of Core Engineering (GSCE) in Visakhapatnam.
GSCE director P Bharani Chandra Kumar inaugurated the lab in the presence of biotechnology department head I Sarat Babu, faculty members, and students.
The facility aims to strengthen experiential learning and practical research with advanced biomedical instrumentation, diagnostic systems, and therapeutic training platforms.
Key equipment includes BIOPAC systems for ECG, EEG, and EMG bio-potential analysis and a Noraxon EMG and gait analysis platform for studying human locomotion.
The institution is pursuing MoUs with the Andhra Pradesh MedTech Zone, Vijaya Diagnostics, and Texas A&M University, alongside two-month internships for students.
