Bengaluru Metro Pink Line Stretch Clears Safety Inspection
Bengaluru’s Pink Line is getting closer to carrying passengers.
A safety inspection of its first elevated section was completed over three days.
This section is 7.5 kilometres long and has six stations.
Inspectors checked the track, trains and other metro facilities.
Some other approvals had already been received.
The inspection is an important step, but the metro still has not announced when passengers can start using this stretch.
At Jayadeva Hospital, riders will be able to change to the Yellow Line.
This could give people in southern Bengaluru another way to travel around the city.
A statutory safety inspection of the Pink Line’s 7.5-km elevated section was completed from October 6 to 8.
The section runs between Kalena Agrahara and Tavarekere and includes six planned stations.
Inspection covered the route, trains, Kothanur Depot and the Operations Control Centre at Baiyappanahalli.
The corridor has received prior approvals, including an RDSO speed certificate, provisional rolling-stock sanction and signalling certification.
A passenger-service opening date has not been confirmed; Jayadeva Hospital station will connect the Pink Line with the Yellow Line.
