Pune Metro Line 3 Clears Five More Stations for Opening
Pune is getting a new metro line called Line 3.
It will connect Maan and Civil Court across western parts of the city.
The route will pass through places such as Hinjawadi, Wakad, Balewadi, Baner and Shivajinagar.
Five more stations have now passed a safety check.
The entire route is planned to have 23 stations.
Some technical work still needs to be finished in the next 10 to 12 days.
After that, officials can prepare the line to start carrying passengers.
The metro may give commuters another way to travel and could reduce some traffic on busy roads.
A separate project will help people reach nearby IT parks from the metro line.
Five additional stations on Pune Metro Line 3 have received safety approval from the Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety.
The 23.203-kilometre elevated corridor will run between Maan and Civil Court through western Pune.
The full route includes 23 stations across Hinjawadi, Wakad, Balewadi, Baner and Shivajinagar.
Remaining technical requirements are expected to be completed within 10 to 12 days before commissioning preparations.
A separate ₹426-crore project will improve last-mile connectivity between the metro corridor and nearby IT parks.
