Bengaluru FC Rallies Past Sporting Club Delhi in Season Opener
Bengaluru FC and Sporting Club Delhi played the first match of the new Indian Super League season.
Bengaluru scored first when Borja Martinez found the net.
Delhi then scored twice and led 2-1 at halftime.
One of Delhi’s goals came off Bengaluru defender Menno Koch by mistake.
Martinez scored again in the second half to make it 2-2.
Substitute Soham Varshneya later sent a cross into the box.
Koch headed it in for Bengaluru’s winning goal in the 89th minute.
Bengaluru won the match 3-2.
Bengaluru FC beat Sporting Club Delhi 3-2 in the Indian Super League 2026-27 season opener on Saturday.
Debutant Borja Martinez put Bengaluru ahead in the 22nd minute and scored again in the 75th.
Rodriguinho equalised for Delhi in the 26th minute before Menno Koch’s own goal gave Delhi a 2-1 halftime lead.
Koch headed in the winning goal in the 89th minute after a cross from substitute Soham Varshneya.
The match took place at Sree Kanteerava Stadium, where Bengaluru secured all three points.
