Naidu directs intensified search for eight missing Konaseema fishermen
Eight fishermen from a district in Andhra Pradesh, India, went out to sea on their fishing boat on August 3.
They talked with their families in the morning, but after that nobody heard from them.
Their boat was supposed to come back by August 12, but it did not arrive.
So the government started searching for them.
The Chief Minister of the state asked all helpers to look for the missing boat and fishermen.
He said to use every possible way and keep searching until they are found safely.
The Coast Guard and other fishing boats are helping with the search.
The fishermen's families were asked to stay positive, and the Chief Minister promised them the government's full support.
Sadly, last month another fishing boat accident in the same state took the lives of six fishermen.
Everyone hopes the fishermen will be found safe and brought back home.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu directed officials to intensify search operations for eight fishermen missing in the Bay of Bengal.
The fishermen set out from the Odalarevu jetty at around 10 am on August 3 and were last in contact with their families at 11 am that day.
The boat was expected to return by August 12 but did not arrive, prompting authorities to launch a special search operation.
The search is coordinated among the Indian Coast Guard, the State fisheries department and the BR Ambedkar Konaseema district administration, with fishing boats from Kakinada, Bhairavapalem, Visakhapatnam and Paradip alerted to assist.
The boat is equipped with a VHF radio set and the fishermen carried mobile phones; Naidu assured the families of full government support and asked them to remain positive.
