Assam CM Announces Rs 1.5 Lakh Crore Infrastructure Boost

The leader of Assam, a state in India, made a big announcement on Independence Day.

He said the state and the country's central government will together spend a huge amount of money, Rs 1.5 lakh crore, to build roads, schools, hospitals, and other important things.

He wants Assam to become a fully developed state by the year 2047.

He also made a rule to help women: if a government worker marries someone else without legally divorcing his first wife, part of his salary will be given to the first wife.

He wants to make a similar law for workers in private companies.

He talked about stopping child marriage, saying many cases were found and some people were arrested.

A new month-long drive against child marriage will start on November 1.

The government will create eight new co-districts and restrict land buying to families who have lived in Assam for three generations, to protect indigenous people's land.

He promised permanent homes for people affected by floods that killed 104 people.

He thanked the Prime Minister and rescue teams for their help.
