Sarma Rejects 'Gen Z, Alpha' Labels, Calls Youth 'Son, Daughter'

The leader of Assam, a state in India, gave a big speech on India's Independence Day.

His name is Himanta Biswa Sarma, and he is the Chief Minister of Assam.

He said he does not believe in labels like 'Gen Z' or 'Gen Alpha' because they come from Europe.

Instead, he said young people should be called 'our own son and daughter.'

He wants a new department to help young people learn skills so they can find jobs.

His government plans to spend a lot of money on roads, schools, and cities over the next five years.

He also wants to build a new satellite city and give free treatment for 50 serious diseases that affect children.

He talked about stopping child marriage and said more than 11,000 people have been arrested for it.

He also wants to protect women whose husbands leave them and let people who have lived in Assam for three generations buy land.

There were big floods recently, so he promised to help people whose homes and property were damaged.
