India's July Fuel Sales Surge Amid Weak Monsoon
In July 2024, India sold more diesel and petrol than it did last year.
Diesel sales went up by about 10.7% to 7.12 million tonnes, and petrol sales rose by 9.7% to 3.45 million tonnes.
Jet fuel also grew a little, but it fell a bit from June.
LPG sales fell sharply because people are using natural gas instead.
The weak monsoon rains made farmers use more diesel to pump water for crops, and new roads helped more trucks travel.
Diesel sales rose 10.7% YoY to 7.12 million tonnes in July 2024.
Petrol sales climbed 9.7% YoY to 3.45 million tonnes in July 2024.
Jet fuel sales increased 2.9% YoY to 659,900 tonnes, but fell 4.6% MoM.
