Indian refiners halt Iraq oil loadings over Hormuz risks

Two big Indian oil companies, Indian Oil Corp and Mangalore Refinery & Petrochemicals Ltd., have stopped taking oil from Iraq.

This is because the Strait of Hormuz, a important waterway for oil ships, has become very dangerous.

Recently, several ships have been attacked, making it too risky to send fully loaded tankers through the strait.

The Indian government has also told shipowners not to send Indian seafarers on ships going through Hormuz.

This shows how serious the situation has become, with many ships avoiding the area.

The Iraqi Oil Ministry says the risks and costs have gone up, leading some companies to cancel their oil loading plans.
