PM Modi's Red Fort Speeches Clock Record 1,177 Minutes

Every year on Independence Day, India's Prime Minister gives a big speech from an old fort called the Red Fort.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has now given the longest total amount of speech time there of any of the four longest-serving prime ministers.

His speeches add up to 1,177 minutes altogether.

That is much more than Indira Gandhi's 504 minutes, Manmohan Singh's 417 minutes, or Jawaharlal Nehru's 400 minutes.

Even though some leaders gave speeches more often, Modi's talks were longer and very detailed each time.

He has been giving these speeches for more than ten years.

In them, he talks about making India a developed country by the year 2047.

He also discusses ideas like making India self-reliant, using more technology, building better roads and cities, empowering women, helping young people, and protecting the environment.

People now say his Independence Day speeches have become a yearly report on what the government has done and what it plans to do next.
