Landslide in Karnataka Kills Migrant Family of Three
Father, mother, 3-year-old son killed in landslide in Karnataka’s Shivamogga · indianexpress.com

A heavy rainstorm in Karnataka made a hillside unstable.

At about 3 am, a wall that was holding back the hill fell and collapsed a shed and a house over tents where 25 migrant workers were sleeping.

The wall and the house fell on a family of three – a man, his wife, and their 3‑year‑old son – and they died.

Rescue teams from the fire service and police worked for hours to clear the rubble and found the bodies.

A labourer named Hanmanth was rescued and taken to a hospital.

The local MLA visited the site, talked to the chief minister, and promised money and new homes for the families that were displaced by the landslide.
