ONGC Top Post Race Narrows To Seven Finalists
Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited is choosing a new top leader.
Seven people have reached the final interview stage.
They were selected from 18 applicants screened on August 18.
Ranjit Rath, who leads Oil India Limited, is considered one of the strongest candidates.
He also applied for the job last year.
The government changed the age and education rules for this selection.
The age limit was raised from 58 to 59 for some applicants.
The process comes after ONGC had several temporary leaders before Arun Kumar Singh was appointed in 2022.
Seven candidates will attend final interviews for the chairperson and managing director position at Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited.
The shortlist was reduced from 18 applicants after an initial screening on August 18.
Oil India Limited Chairman and Managing Director Ranjit Rath is viewed as a leading contender and is making a second attempt.
The government relaxed the upper age limit to 59 and revised educational qualification requirements for applicants.
The selection follows leadership instability at Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited, which lacked a full-time chief from April 2021 to December 2022.
